Bienvenidos a Buenos Aires!

Hola!

We arrived safely in Buenos Aires and slowly getting over our jetlags and finding our way around the city.

First impressions are pretty awesome:

- As everyone says, the city does feel very European, especially Southern-European, which sounds pretty obvious.

- It feels very safe although parts of it are a bit run down, which reminds us about Poland about 15 years ago and perhaps that’s why it feels quite homely.

- Life is rather colorful here, many people play or sing in the streets, dance tango (!) or sell arts and crafts of all sorts.

- Lots of beautiful old buildings and lots of history here, which is something you miss a bit in Australia.

Overall, we spend our time rather pleasantly, exploring the city, mostly on foot. We seem to be spending a fair bit of time in all sorts of cafes, bars and restaurants, sampling local delicacies, beer and wine. Which is fine as we have a good excuse – the jetlag :) The weather is very good, sunny all the time, and has gotten much warmer since we arrived – yesterday was 22C.

Today, the plan is to explore a few other barrios and to see Le nozze di Figaro at the splendid Teatro Colón. We just hope that we don’t fall asleep at 8pm, which we did yesterday, as this is the time the play starts!

Check out some first images below and we’ll keep you posted… Ciao!
